Wait Staff—Accepting Résumés Year-roundTell a Friend

We want staff who speak well, look neat and clean, and care to do an excellent job. We have aimed for quality rather than quantity, and we like to keep the wait staff small and busy. Wait staff will serve an upmarket clientele with good taste and good manners.

Our wait staff uniforms are unique in Indiana, and they present our staff well to our patrons. Khaki skirts for each waitress—dress khaki trousers are worn by waiters, and the shirts and ties we have selected make everyone look fresh and colourful. Wait staff members have traditionally made good tips at Coventry, and our policy of working with an small but expert staff enhances this potential.

Part-time Chef/Cook—Position Filled.

Hiring a part-time chef or cook to work at The Coventry Inn. Around twenty hours per week. Baking expertise preferred.

Bar Tender/Bar Manager —Position Filled.

The Coventry Inn is seeking an excellent bar tender to handle all responsibilities relating to the bar, including cleaning and sanitizing. Qualifications needed are the knowledge of and interest in mixing very high quality cocktails from ingredients rather than from mixers. Knowledge of beers and wines is also useful, along with computer literacy at least as far as operating a Micros E7 point of sale system. Candidate must also be personable, and have good spoken language skills. If the candidate has qualifications, he or she may also be hired as front of the house manager. The Coventry Inn is open three evenings a week, and we also hold some private parties on other nights. The Coventry Inn is a drug-free operation, and being drug free is also a qualification for the position.

Kitchen Staff—Positions Filled.

Wanted line cooks with experience and/or culinary education. Positions open on hot and cold lines. Fifteen to forty hours per week.

Cuisine is English pub, bistro, and fine dining. Full range of appetizers, soups, salads, pub dinners, fine dining entrées, and desserts. We make all of our own stocks, and every dish is made from scratch, using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients.

The Coventry Inn will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday each week once we open full time. We also hold private events on other days.

Cleaners, Dish Washers, Etc.—Postion Filled.

As time goes on, The Coventry Inn will require all types of restaurant employees to maintain our facility, to keep it spotlessly clean, and to maintain our dishes, tableware, and pots and pans. Some people just want a job, and some love this kind of work. We want people who love this kind of work, and this is something that no one can fake. Chef/Kitchen Manager—Position Filled.

A resourceful chef and kitchen manager is required at The Coventry Inn in Indiana, Pennsylvania to work with the owner and manager to complete menu development for a beautiful restaurant in the style of an English pub or country inn. The design of the building is English Tudor with handmade oak furniture, leaded glass windows, and woodburning fireplaces. The dining room and bar seat about seventy-five, and the building includes additional space for private events or overflow.

The menu is a mixture of pub/bistro and fine dining. We make our own stocks, and all dishes are prepared from scratch, using fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients whenever possible. The menu includes appetizers/tapas, soups and salads, pub dinners, fine dining, and desserts. Steaks, seafood, lamb, chicken, duck, game, and homemade pasta are served. Presentation is modern and upmarket. Menu influences include English, French, Spanish, and Italian, and from time to time, specific cuisines are featured, such as Spanish Week, French Week, Cajun Week, etc. The traditional menu of the restaurant will be served along with enhancements based on the talents and specialties of the chef. It is important that the successful candidate is able to make stocks and work within the guidelines of the owner. The ability to read, adapt, and follow recipes is essential.

The restaurant will be open Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays with private events as scheduled. The job is considered full-time with planning, prep, and service. The owner favours a candidate with education and experience, perhaps as a very successful line cook who is ready to make the jump to running his or her own kitchen. Job will require a full range of techniques and it will include experiences with many cuisines. Starting salary in the range of $500.00 to $550.00 per week with opportunity for success and growth for the right person.
